Studio Journal #1
Welcome to my Studio Journal AKA blog.
Yesterday, I returned from a mini trip to visit family and on the way home decided… I’m done with Instagram. Not the first time I’ve thought this, but I’m deactivating it later this week - scary.
I still want to share all the studio updates and happenings… hense this Studio Journal. So, welcome.
What Can We Expect?
So what can we expect of this new blog-style content?
Studio updates
Photos of works and messy workspaces
Cat assistant photos
Greyhound happenings
Videos and clips of painting processes
Upcoming events like workshops, markets, and art shop sales
So if you’re interested in staying up to date add yourself to the newsletter!!
What’s New?
I’ve been attempting to clean up my studio works and prepping them for the shop. I forgot how much time that takes - and now with a new job, I’m still figuring out my schedule and when to focus on my art.
Speaking of new job, I recently became a studio manager for a local art workshop - yay!
What Else?
Honestly? Not really sure what else. This is my first August and September not being an educator, not working for a school, not prepping lessons… IT. FEELS. SO. GOOD. But it also feels like completely new territory that I’m still figuring out how to navigate. So bear with me as I find my new rhythm.
Thanks for being here.
Thanks for being here at the start of this new Studio Journal. If you’ve ever stepped away from social media, or have thought about it, how did you feel?? I didn’t grow up with social media so I remember how life was before it… but why is it still so scary to let go of it now?
Ok bye.
